What Conferences Accomplish for Social Change Organizations

ABSTRACT

Conferences allow activists and their supporters to share information, seek out technical help and create supportive networks. At conferences, participants discuss the values that guide their work and by doing so agree on a shared meaning of their social change organizations. Conferences are focusing events that help create a social movement.
