Lesbian Access to Justice

Toward Lesbian Survival Under the Rule of Law

SUMMARY

Although some aspects of New Zealand family law have been criticised as discriminatory, the New Zealand legal system has yet to be critically examined from a lesbian perspective. This article begins a development of lesbian legal theory for Aotearoa/New Zealand by analysing the contribution that the 1999 Law Commission study, Women's Access to Legal Services,has made to our knowledge about the impact of the law on lesbian relationships and communities.
