An Interview with Dee Mosbacher, MD, PhD

ABSTRACT

This article is comprised of excerpts from an interview with Dee Mosbacher, MD, PhD, a psychiatric consultant and lesbian ac tivist who has expressed her visions of social change through documentary films. Dee describes the beginnings of her political activism in the social change and women's health movements of the 1960s and 1970s and her evolution as an activist filmmaker over the past two decades. She explores the process of fundraising, the importance of working collabor-atively, her experience balancing activism with her work as a psychiatrist, and the rewards of making films that have an impact on people's lives. She also discusses her visions for the future and provides recommendations for young lesbian activists.
