Abstract

Applying for a federal, state, or foundation grant is possible for anyone. It takes skills that can be learned through research, study and connecting with colleagues. This paper describes the kinds of ideas that appeal to funders and recommends paper and print resources. Databases, resources, websites and funding sources are listed. Tips on organizing the process and actually writing the grant are presented. With the skills learned here, a good idea, and perseverance, hospital librarians can succeed in the funding arena.
