Teaching Internet Health Search Skills to the Public

Abstract

Librarians know MEDLINEplus(r) as a useful tool to obtain reliable, accurate health information, yet the general public has little or no knowledge of it. To address this problem, the author developed a four-week short course introducing the public to MEDLINEplus and other reliable health information sources via the Net.
