Working for Food

Lecturing to Physicians

Pages 15-21 | Received 25 Sep 2003, Accepted 06 Jan 2004, Published online: 08 Sep 2008

ABSTRACT

One of the duties medical librarians are supposed to carry out is teaching people how to use medical information services. However, many of us limit that teaching to within library walls. This article relates how one librarian has expanded his audience to physicians at small, rural hospitals and some of the challenges and benefits to “working for food.”
