Abstract
Davidoff and Florance suggest a new health profession as a means to bridge the literature-practice gap in medicine (1). While librarians, clinicians, and academicians discuss the many details of implementing such a program, clinical librarians are already working hospital floorsproviding information to clinicians at the point of care. This paper describes the author's experience in implementing a clinical librarian program at an urban teaching hospital and makes recommendations for others considering such a program.
