The Benefits of Keeping Print Journal Usage Statistics in an Electronic World

Pages 79-85 | Published online: 08 Sep 2008

Abstract

In this day and age when most hospital libraries are doing their utmost to provide as much electronic full-text as possible, it may seem anachronistic to propose developing a system to track print journal usage. It is this librarian's opinion, however, that such statistics can serve several purposes, including insight as to what electronic resources should be purchased and/or promoted.
