Abstract

In Nigeria, a growing number of people own a mobile phone. In tertiary institutions most undergraduates and lecturers own a mobile phone and it is now used to show one's status in the community. In certain places, such as the library, where absolute silence is needed, some library users misuse mobile phone and thus they constitute a source of disturbance to other library users. This paper is a study conducted to show it and solutions are proffered on how to combat this menace in the library.
