Abstract
This paper delineates the importance of studying developmental differences in trauma reactions and treatment response such that information gleaned by such research can help in aiding both the prevention and treatment of trauma reactions across the lifespan. Papers in this issue of the Journal of Trauma Practice address this important variable of age diversity as it relates to our understanding of trauma impact and treatment. The editorial presents the editors view as to the inclusion of diversity as an important premise in our understanding more fully trauma reactions and responsivity to intervention and prevention.
