Abstract
This paper discusses: (1) the response of the mental health and gay/lesbian community to the mentally ill (MI) gay/lesbian population; (2) the literature available on this population; (3) the effects of symptomology and medications on gay/lesbian identity; (4) the structuring of a psycho-social group that addresses the needs of this population; and (5) the evaluation of the MI gay/lesbian group at ReEntry House, Inc.
