The Influence of Setting on Clinical Practice

Abstract

This paper, based on a national study of the practice of experienced clinical social workers, focuses on the influence of setting on practice. Special attention is paid to independent practice. A primary question is how setting affects the differential usc of various modes of intervention. Discussion focuses on the implications of the findings for graduate education as well as social work practice.
