Preparing Social Workers for Licensing Exams:

A Service of Independent Practitioners

Abstract

Private social work practitioners have been at the forefront of the efforts to train and prepare colleagues for successful completion of social work licensing exams. Th~sar ticle discusses how they recruit students, develop curricula, and attend to the details of establishing such programs. Then it describes three models of preparation: informal groups, coaching, and formal examination services.
