Abstract
This paper identifies the major problems of most Asian-Americans and analyzes the reasons why these problems have defied solutions. In order to deal with them effectively, a more responsive organizational arrangement for a multi-purpose agency is suggested. Such an agency is client-concerned as well as community-oriented, equipped to effectively meet the immediate and long-term needs of individuals and families, as well as organize the community to deal with larger issues. The structure of the proposed agency, its major programs, approaches, and social work roles and skills are discussed.
