Abstract
Retirement, especially early retirement, is a stressful experience, though not necessarily a distressful one. This article addresses several issues related to making the process of retirement a beneficially stressful experience. It addresses the decision to retire, the planning process for retirement, and living in retirement. It addresses four factors which may be sources of stress -lifestyle and location, spousal concerns, finances, and health.
