Computers in Psychology:

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!

Pages 45-49 | Published online: 26 Oct 2008

Abstract

Good, bad and ugly aspects of the computer revolution are described: speed, convenience and accuracy offset by hardware incompatibility, a glut of software of varying quality, and largely unintelligible manuals. Few programs are "user friendly" and rapidly changing technology and increasing bankruptcies make system and software replacement dubious. Computerized testing and therapy raise serious ethical questions.
