The Use of Hypnosis in the Multimodal Treatment of Trichotillomania:

A Case Report

Abstract

The case of a 20-year-old woman with an eight-year history of hair pulling is presented. Multimodal techniques are combined with hypnosis to provide an effective treatment intervention. After 15 sessions, the client reported no hair pulling. Eight month follow-up reveals continued success in controlling this compulsive behavior.
