Abstract

While integrated treatment programs have been developed and researched nationally for adults with co-occurring disorders of substance abuse and mental illness, little movement has been made on developing and field testing integrated programs that address the needs of youth with co-occurring disorders. This article will present one treatment model that has been developed and piloted in Ohio. The Integrated Co-Occurring Treatment (ICT) model focuses on youth with co-occurring disorders of mental health and substance abuse who have also been involved with the juvenile justice system.
