SUMMARY

Biopolymer chitosan is a prospective textile auxiliary agent prepared from chitin or from bioprocesses waste. Chitosan has a lot of important characteristicsespecially high sorption of basic ions and biodegradability. In this study we tested chitosan using the following analytical methodsviscosimetry, spectrophotometry (IR, VIS, UV), ninhydrin reaction and sorption methods. We discussed an influence of molecular weight and degree of chemical modification as well.
