Hospital Social Work Information System

Abstract

This chapter provides an overview into management information systems used within a hospital social work department. The history of developing the Hospital Social Work Information System (HSWIS) is presented together with a description of the various components of the system. A clear mission statement of the system is also discussed. The use of the system to provide data for a national data base is discussed as well as the present state of the various installations using the system.
