Words Can Work

When Talking with Kids About Sexual Health

Pages 91-107 | Published online: 11 Oct 2008

Abstract

This review describes a resource for parents, caregivers, families and young people who want to talk intelligently and sensitively about sexuality. Words Can Work: When Talking with Kids About Sexual Health is a book small in size and large in relevance. Real conversations between adults and teens provide sample ways to talk about puberty, values, relationships, delaying sexual intercourse, contraception, and more. Expert commentary is provided by two physicians and the thoughts of young men and women are profiled within each chapter.
