Abstract
Five areas that should concern practitioners who arrange and conduct treatment programs for obese children are identified. These are, in order of presentation, bickering, contradictory messages, devising the negative energy equation, selecting treatment target behaviors, and motivating children. Where possible, suggestions for resolving the dilemmas raised in the discussion of these areas are offered.
