Family Involvement for Optimal Recovery

Abstract

This article focuses on the recovery of a childhood stroke survivor from his mother’s perspective. She shares ideas for families to use to help supplement the hospital-based therapies. Additionally, she emphasizes a positive support system within the family, medical team, and educational support team. Belief, hope, and determination are key elements to an optimal recovery.
