Living with Aphasia: Creating a New Life

Pages 61-63 | Published online: 02 Feb 2015

Abstract

A 46-year-old woman recounts her six-and-a-half year recovery from aphasia due to stroke. Her love of reading and writing motivated her to make language rehabilitation a central focus in her life after the stroke. In this narrative, she recounts the remarkable progress that she has made and how she has come to accept her new life with its meaningful (but different) set of goals.
