Abstract
The Finnish universities entered a new era starting January 1, 2010, when they were “privatized”. However, the main obligations remained unchanged, and according to the university Law the universities’ main activity is to provide skilled persons for the society. This activity should be based on doing research and providing highest teaching based thereupon.
