Abstract
Fifty-one papers from 12 countries in western Europe, the Socialist Republics, and northern America were presented at the Conference on Low-Temperature Nuclear Heat, which indicates how large and general the interest is in this subject. This short summary cannot do justice to all the individual papers, but merely reviews some of the general trends that emerged and focuses on some highlights. For this purpose, I present my comments under three headings as follows:
Market potential for low-grade “pipe-conveyed” heat in general and nuclear heat in particular
Technology, economics, and applications
“What now?”-an attempt to synthesize the message from this Conference.
