Abstract
Editor's note: The year 2007 sees the 25th anniversary of Channel 4 Television in the UK. To mark this occasion, this issue of the Journal of Media Practice presents three pieces on the Channel. This one is an interview with Alan Fountain, who worked as a senior commissioning editor at Channel 4 from its inception till the mid nineties. Following this are two articles by Christine Fanthome on Channel 4 idents, and Adam Ganz on British drama.
