Tate Modern — an opening for printmaking?

Pages 46-55 | Published online: 03 Jan 2014

Abstract

The opening of Tate Modern has dramatically challenged the way that contemporary art is seen in England and places printmaking within the broad context of fine art rather than as a marginal activity. It is now for those individuals and institutions involved with the production and promotion of prints to act in response to this change and begin to play a central role in the visual culture.
