Abstract
The classical Cartesian split between matter and mind, or ways of seeing and the effects of changing conceptual frameworks — both of these possible meanings of the conference title ‘On-Site/In-Sight’ are relevant to the content of this article, which investigates the expression in current art practice of the major change in world-view (‘paradigm shift’) which appears to be taking place at the moment.
