Abstract
There are several ways in which artists approach the representation of cross-culturalism and interdisciplinarity. In this personal reflection I discuss the methodology I used in two of my paintings to visualize cross-culturalism and interdisciplinarity. The tools I use for the visualization of these processes consist of cultural myths and symbolism adopted from various cultures. I also use geometric ‘meander’ curves, to represent these myths and symbols. Since the meander patterns are themselves symbolic, and represent myths, my paintings visualize the interaction of myths within myths. In this way my paintings are also visualizations of ‘fractal’ or recursive myths.
