Whose story is reclaimed in The Home Song Stories?

Pages 15-20 | Published online: 03 Jan 2014

Abstract

The Home Song Stories offers a personal view of dislocation, family and the experience of difference; it widens the concept of what is an Australian story. The director of the film, who is also the narrator, reflects on his childhood and on his mother's experience of alterity in a foreign country, attempting, in the process, to reclaim a part of himself.
