Abstract
A series of phenolic 4’-substituted biphenyl derivatives are claimed as IL-4 antagonists. All of the claimed compounds are substituted by a third phenyl ring attached via a two or three atom spacer group. The compounds are reported to inhibit IL-4 induced phosphorylation of STAT6. These compounds appear to represent some of the first small molecule cytokine receptor antagonist to be described.
