Patent Evaluation: Co-Administration of a 5HT3 Antagonist and an Opioid Delays the Onset of Tolerance

Summary

Novelty: The delay of onset of tolerance to opiate analgesia is claimed to be effected by concomitant administration of a SHT3 antagonist.

Biology: Morphine analgesia data are shown for rats and tolerance compared to morphine with and without administration of a selection of drugs known to be 5HT3 antagonists.

Chemistry: All the compounds mentioned are previously known.
