Novelty: The use of 5′-aminoadenosine analogues as immunosuppressants for the treatment of autoimmune diseases is disclosed.
Biology: The inhibitory effect of a specified compound on IL-2-dependent in vitro T-cell growth is described. At 10 μM, 70% inhibition is observed for cell count and DNA synthesis.
Chemistry: There are nine synthetic examples. The compound shown is cis-5′-deoxy-5′-(4-amino-2-butenyl)methylamino adenosine and is specifically claimed.
