Summary

Novelty: Novel huperzine A analogues are claimed to be acetylcholinesterase inhibitors and are potentially useful for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Biology: AChE inhibitory activity was evaluated using an in vitro rat hippocampal homogenate assay. Preferred compounds were found to have IC50 values in the range 0.47 × 10–7-1.3 × 10–5 M.
