Abstract
The use of fertility-promoting hormone human menopausal gonadatropin (hMG) is disclosed in a novel method for pregnancy termination.
In tests, of three groups of pregnant (one day) rats, two were injected (sc) with 0.5 mg hMG/H2O on day six. On day nine, it was found that ovulations were 1.6 ± 1.2 and 1.5 ± 2.8/rat for the two groups. There was no ovulation in the control group. In a test on nine groups of pregnant rats, hMG (0.5 mg) terminated pregnancy in all rats when injected as a single dose on days one or two.
