Welding X100 steels for gas pipelines

Pages 877-882 | Published online: 08 Jul 2010

Abstract

The increasing demand for high strength steel (to date not included in the standards for pipe material specifications) for dedicated long distance pipelines for natural gas transportation at high pressure (≥ 10 Mpa) has prompted studies of the overall integrity of both the pipe and the girth welds used, fundamental parts of the structural reliability of the pipeline.
