Following publication of this article, an error, introduced at the copyediting stage, has been identified in the abstract. The sentence “Magnetic resonance imaging already has an established role in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, but it also has the potential to provide prognostic information, and to monito disease progression in clinical trials and practice.” should be corrected to “Magnetic resonance imaging already has an established role in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, but it also has the potential to provide prognostic information, and to monitor disease progression in clinical trials and practice.”
