Abstract
Acne vulgaris is a very common skin disease, prevalent especially in teenagers and young adults. It is observable that some individuals try to squeeze or scratch away acne lesions in order to remove skin abnormalities. However, scratching is also a very important part of the pruritic reaction. Interestingly, despite commonly observed scratching behavior in acne, this disease is usually considered a nonpruritic skin disorder. However, some literature data suggested that at least a part of acne sufferers may experience itching during the disease course. The current perspective focuses on the pruritus in patients suffering from acne.
