Abstract
This review provides guidelines for the effectiveness of endometrial ablation treatment options for dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Endometrial ablation is a successful treatment for women suffering from menorrhagia. First-generation techniques should only be used by trained surgeons who use the technique frequently, thus maintaining high standards. In choosing a second-generation device, careful assessment of the available literature is necessary. The results of randomized clinical trials, especially long-term follow-up, will provide the most objective results.
