Abstract

Motherhood is one of the most important and joyful experiences in the life of a woman. To have the diagnosis of a gynecologic cancer that necessitates therapy, which could potentially impair reproductive capability, is physically and psychologically devastating. Fertility is a key issue for cancer victims diagnosed at a young age. Many women are inadequately counseled regarding their fertility options prior to undergoing gonadal toxic cancer therapy. In this article we shall review the currently available therapies for gynecologic and other cancers that could salvage fertility for women who desire to preserve it.
