Abstract

The biannual World Congress of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease was held on 3–8 September 2011 in Paris, France. The World Congress brings together a unique, international, multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals who have a vested interest in vulvovaginal disease. Members include gynecologists, pathologists, dermatologists and related disciplines including nurse practitioners, physical therapists, psychologists and social workers. The blend of these specialties offers unique opportunities for discussions of novel treatment and management strategies to improve the healthcare outcomes of women with vaginal and vulvar disease. The conference included a precourse workshop, member scientific presentations, concurrent workshops, symposia and a poster session. Select presentations are highlighted in this article.
