Idiopathic intracranial hypertension

Abstract

Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), also known as pseudotumor cerebri, is a disorder of elevated intracranial pressure of unknown cause. It is a common condition with significant morbidity and huge economic impact. Despite this, it remains largely misunderstood with multiple proposed etiologies and several treatment options. In this review the authors focus on its etiology, current management options and future directions of treatment.
