At the request of the authors, the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Cancer Management and Research wish to retract the published article.

We were notified of some potential issues found in the electrophoresis images presented in Figure 1B and C of the published article. The authors were asked to provide the original, unedited images for these figures as well as the original, unedited images for the Western blots shown in Figures 3B and 5C. The authors responded and explained that the required raw data for the gel electrophoresis and Western blots images had been lost and asked to retract the article to maintain the principle of scientific integrity.

The authors wish to apologise for this error.
