Abstract

Chen Z, Zhang Y, Wu J, et al. Int J Chron Obstruct Pulmon Dis. 2021;16:877–885.

The Editor and Publisher of International Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease are retracting the published article. Concerns were raised that the western blot results in Figure 4 had been duplicated with those from Figure 6 in Liu CY, Wu JH, Chen ZY, Zhang Y, Huang CL, Lin AM, Xu XT, Gao XH. Effect of Doxofylline on Reducing the Inflammatory Response in Mechanically Ventilated Rats with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Int J Chron Obstruct Pulmon Dis. 2021;16:2375—2383, https://doi.org/10.2147/COPD.S315639. Both sets of western blots are describing results from different studies.

The authors did not respond to our queries and as the findings could not be verified the Editor and Publisher made the decision to retract the article. The authors were notified of this decision.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
