Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Among Middle-Aged and Elderly Population Towards Ultrasound Screening for Strokes [Response to Letter]

Dear editor

We have read the research article entitled “Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practicves Among Middle-Aged and Elderly Population Towards Ultrasound Screening for Strokes” by Wenwen Wang, Yuanyuan Peng, Keqiang Tang, Ziwei Zheng, Lan He, Shaoling Yang, published in the Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare 2024.Citation1 We would like to congratulate the authors on this successful article, and make some contributions. 1) This research provides valuable insight into the knowledge, attitudes and practicves of using ultrasound as an initial step in preventing stroke. 2) This research shows that it is important to use USG in preventing stroke.

However, this research has a limitation other than those stated by researchers in this journal. Distributing questionnaires online has the advantage of being cost-effective and fast, however researchers cannot directly supervise filling out questionnaires which can affect the accuracy of the data.Citation2 It is possible that the questionnaire was not filled out by the respondent but by the respondent’s family, so that the data obtained could be biased. Suggestions for future research, researchers need to consider using direct data collection methods, so that it is hoped that the data obtained will be unbiased and valid.
