A note on Bryopsis in the West Indies

Abstract

The name Bryopsis duchassaingii J. Ag. as to type applies to a species of Trichosolen (Pseudobryopsis). The species of Bryopsis currently called B. duchassaingii is consequently without a name and is herein newly described as B. halliae. Pseudobryopsis longipedicellata Blomquist & Díaz-Piferrer is placed in the synonymy of T. duchassaingii (J. Ag.) Taylor.
