Abstract

low-to-moderate alcohol intake (defined as one to two drinks or 15–30 g of ethanol/day) reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, whereas high alcohol intake (more than three to four drinks or >45–60 g of ethanol/day) increases the risk.
