Inclusively Designed Womenswear through Industrial Seamless Knitting Technology

Abstract

The aim of this design-led research was to investigate whether, by establishing the aesthetic clothing desires of disabled women, these requirements could be met by inclusively designed seamless knitwear produced by industrial seamless knitting technology. This article sets out the research path taken to produce such an inclusive collection of fashionable womenswear and the results and issues that emerged. This research was undertaken as part of a practice-based PhD.
