Abstract
The following primer was incomplete when received from Canton, with pages 25-42 of the seventy-eight-page primer missing. Also not included here are some of the pages of homework and class exercises which will be of little interest to readers, as well as the indices of words and rules of Chinese caligraphy that are at the back of the primer.
